California Story Slam

The California Story Slam is a statewide writing contest for high school juniors. Teachers are asked to submit student-authored stories based on the students’ personal experiences. The contest reaches out to a broad spectrum of students from throughout California’s diverse geography of urban and rural communities. Winners from participating counties are selected by a jury of recognized California writers. The winner and the school library receive cash awards at public presentations hosted by county arts councils.
